Position Summary:  
This role is responsible for creating industry leading content to provide engaging customer content on the BCJ website, social channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube), website blogs, e-communications, video and webinar content to the BCJ database. The Website, Copy & Content Specialist is enthusiastic, versatile, and strategic with the ability to connect ideas and action, and set up the structure, processes, and outcomes to succeed. The ideal candidate can leverage existing content as well as creating new content that is thoughtful and engaging.  

The Content Specialist will also be responsible for the management and creation of our social media channels on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn.  They will oversee the company website in regards to content management, creation and user experience. They will be responsible for creating customer communications.  

As a remote team we need someone who’s adaptable and able to work independently most of the time. At the end of the day – it’s largely an office job but you’ll still be connected to our team across the country and guides and photographers out in the field.  It requires a strong work ethic and marketing skills.  
 
The schedule can be hectic. There will be evening & weekend calls. There will be last minute fires to put out & problems to solve.  
 
General Duties and Responsibilities:
 

Marketing Content 

  • Responsible for day-to-day content creation & editing for all organizational marketing initiatives, brand and trip related campaigns, email marketing, and promotional strategies for client acquisition & retention.  
  • Responsible for approving, managing & editing copy & images submitted by Trip Leaders & 3rd party contributors.  
  • Collaborate with BCJ Leadership Team to develop/manage marketing and communication plans to drive organizational priorities. 
  • Work with marketing team to create and execute creative concepts to support marketing and branding campaigns, programs, national/international trips, video production, webinar script and presentation management, guest testimonials, geo-targeted efforts and campaigns, content for the outdoor industry as a whole, collaborate with BCJ business units and external agencies. 
  • Be part of the team responsible for the development, integration and ongoing support of the digital ecosystem including website and social media 
  • Work closely with the marketing team, and departmental team leads to create social media campaign themes that support our brand and product go-to-market strategies. 
  • Responsible for daily content and grow our social media following across all channels with hyper-targeted followers. 
  • Stay up to date on social media trends and best practices. 
  • Ensure accuracy of all online and digital content, including website content and functionality, trip packet accuracy and daily social media engagement.  
  • Work with marketing directors to support e-mail marketing and client - communications strategy and digital campaigns trip packet content and design  
  • Work with the team to create compelling visuals, audio, etc. for all posts. 
  • Manage our content calendar  
  • Track and analyze social media and website analytics and utilize the data to gain insights and positively affect future outcomes.  
 
Job requirements:
 

  • 2+ years’ experience in the outdoor adventure travel industry 
  • Basic photography knowledge  
  • 2+ years of marketing expertise including digital and e-communications 
  • Experience in website content development and management 
  • Experience in creating content and developing targeted campaigns.   
  • Proven problem solver - ability to think ahead and multi-task 
  • Critical attention to detail and high standards of organizational quality 
  • Positive, flexible, solution oriented, and excited to work with a diverse team 
  • Mature, coachable, and happy doing high-level projects as well as low-level design tasks (there will be a mix of both!) 
  • Outstanding communication skills (both written and verbal) — you have a knack for offering constructive feedback, effective delegation, and ensuring everyone on your team is on the same page 
  • Willingness to travel and work additional hours as necessary, including nights and weekends

This is a remote work / home-based position. Please note that all candidates must have the following: 

  • Laptop or computer that is compatible with Microsoft and Adobe products 
  • Printer 
  • Reliable, high-speed Wi-Fi connection 
  • Quiet, dedicated workplace (sorry coffee shops, kitchens & living rooms won’t cut it) 
 
Compensation:  

  • Salary range for this position is: $42,000 - $55,000 
  • Position is eligible for an annual merit increase (typically 3% - 5%) 
  • Position is eligible for a discretionary bonus of up to 5%
