Is this you?

You are a SALES PRO. You love talking with people, understanding what they really want, and helping them make a confident decision. You “get” the world of outdoor adventure travel and, even better, you’re excited by photography tours & workshops.

You’re the kind of person who doesn’t just answer questions — you guide, recommend, and then confidently ask for the booking. You’re energized by follow-up, you’re comfortable on the phone and over email, and you can turn “I’m thinking about it” into “I’m in, let’s do it.”

You are committed to excellence and always game to learn new things. You are experienced, confident and ready to dive in headfirst, work a sales pipeline, and hit your numbers. You don’t just hang out & wait for the phone to ring – you proactively reach out to warm leads, follow up on inquiries, and keep deals moving across the finish line.

You’re detail-oriented and organized enough to manage a steady stream of leads, calls, and follow-ups without dropping the ball. You’re comfortable working in a CRM, tracking your activity, and you actually enjoy seeing your conversion rate and commissions climb.

If the above description doesn’t match you EXACTLY this is not the position for you!

However… if that is YOU and if you’re driven to work at a high-level, exciting company that sends people across the world on photography adventures… read on!

The Job:
This position is responsible for turning interest into bookings. You are the primary sales contact for guests who are curious about our trips – the person who gets them “over the fence” and onto the calendar.

It’s your job to:

  • Learn our trips, itineraries, and processes at a high level
  • Quickly understand what a guest is looking for
  • Confidently recommend the best trip options for them
  • Close the sale and make sure their booking is accurate and complete

You’ll handle inbound leads (phone, email, web inquiries) and also do structured follow-up with past guests and warm prospects. You are expected to actively work a list, get potential trip guests on the phone, follow up consistently, and ask for the business.

This role is hourly plus bonus/commission based on performance and closed bookings. Your success is measured by conversion rates, booked revenue, and the quality of the guest experience along the way.

As a remote team we need someone who’s adaptable and able to work independently. You’ll be on the front line of our revenue engine, while still delivering a world-class, consultative experience to our guests.

Can you educate our guests on photo trip experiences? Can you excite, delight & recommend the best trip for each individual – and then confidently close the deal?

The schedule is 8am to 4pm Mountain Time. We are flexible with time-off, however there will be occasional evening & weekend field-line shifts where you are on-call, plus occasional time-shifted follow-up calls when it makes sense for a hot lead. There will be last-minute fires to put out & problems to solve.

But at the end of the day – it’s a super fun & rewarding position, you get to work from home, and you directly see the impact of your work in your commissions and the trips you help make happen.

Us:
We’re Backcountry Journeys. We’re a group of outdoor photography nerds that love exploration & adventure. You’ll get to work with a fun, hard-working crew of like-minded, outdoor photographers, travel to exciting destinations around the globe & also spend a good deal of time at home doing what you love. Did we mention this is a remote position? Job done, mission accomplished? Go ski, climb or mountain bike after a hard days work. We are all about work-life-balance at BCJ. We work hard, we play hard!

Our purpose at Backcountry Journeys is connecting passionate people to exceptional experiences through our world-class landscape & wildlife photography tours, workshops & safaris.
