From viewing Polar Bears and the northern lights in the Arctic Circle, to the wonderland of Iceland, to the jungles of Costa Rica and the Amazon rainforest in Brazil to all the iconic National Parks in North America, and finally on safari in Africa and India.

Position Summary: 

This role is meant to be the gatekeeper between our brand and the guests who are considering one of our photography adventures. In this role, you'll be primarily responsible for driving interest through email content, helping our brand stand out in a sea of flooded inboxes, and conveying the value of our experience. You will also work to broaden our reach through social channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, & YouTube), regularly working with the team to help deliver value to our followers, and strengthening our voice in the adventure travel industry. You would also be encouraged to stay in tune with the latest in photography; writing content that engages our passionate photography audience about the newest gear, tips & tricks, and highlights our newest trips.

As a remote position, you'd be expected to be a self-starter, skilled in time management, and organized in your day-to-day efforts. We are a data-driven company, and this role would require a candidate who's comfortable using CRMs, marketing automations, and using accountability software like Asana.

We believe strongly in work-life balance at BCJ, but there might be times when fires need to be put out, or urgent problems need to be addressed outside normal business hours.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drafting and Scheduling High-Quality Branded Content Across Emails, Blogs, and Social Platforms
  • Building Professional, Visually-Appealing Graphics For Use Across Marketing Content
  • Analyzing Trends and Performance Through Our CRM and Third-Party platforms such as Google Analytics, etc.
  • Responsible For Approving, Managing & Editing Copy & Images Submitted By Trip Leaders & 3rd Party Contributors
  • Maintaining a Unified Brand Visual Style & Cadence Across Marketing Channels
  • Regularly Experimenting With Marketing Automation Tools To Help Personalize Content & Improve Engagement
  • Organizing Our Marketing Calendar To Stay Up To Date With Trip Launches & Promotional Events
  • Collaborating With Team Members to Solve Issues and Brainstorm New Initiatives
  • Connecting With Industry Partners To Explore Opportunities For Content & Collaboration
 
Job requirements:
 
  • Basic photography knowledge  
  • 2+ years of marketing expertise, including digital and e-communications 
  • Experience in website content development and management 
  • Experience in creating content and developing targeted campaigns.   
  • Proven problem solver - ability to think ahead and multitask 
  • Critical attention to detail and high standards of organizational quality 
  • Positive, flexible, solution-oriented, and excited to work with a diverse team 
  • Mature, coachable, and happy doing high-level projects as well as low-level design tasks (there will be a mix of both!) 
  • Outstanding communication skills (both written and verbal) — you have a knack for offering constructive feedback, effective delegation, and ensuring everyone on your team is on the same page 
  • Willingness to travel and work additional hours as necessary, including nights and weekend

This is a remote work / home-based position. Please note that all candidates must have the following: 
  • A laptop or computer that is compatible with Microsoft and Adobe products 
  • Printer 
  • Reliable, high-speed Wi-Fi connection 
  • Quiet, dedicated workplace (sorry, coffee shops, kitchens & living rooms won’t cut it) 
 
Compensation:  
  • Salary range for this position is: $42,000 - $55,000 
  • Position is eligible for an annual merit increase (typically 3% - 5%) 
  • Position is eligible for a discretionary bonus of up to 5%
